Resistance Flexibility and Stretch Training (RFST)

There is a new way to Stretch that many people have not seen. Resistance Flexibility and Stretch Training (RFST). In 1978 Bob Cooley discovered (RFST) training after getting struck by an automobile traveling at over 70 mph. In his his attempt to rehabilitate he realized muscles stretch only when they contract when lengthening.

Muscles do not stretch the way most people think they do. You must continually contract the muscles while lengthening them to produce a change in your overall flexibility. Watch this video from Dr. Cordie Williams of Health from Within.

How can RFST benefit to your overall health?

  • It takes the the pain away from stretching
  • Protects your body from injury by over-stretching
  • It improves performance accuracy and promotes stable movements
  • It allows your body to perform the same efforts with less effort
  • Removes chronic joint stress
  • Improves muscle function and your body's ability to perform more complex movements with ease
  • Provides greater strength from the same muscle mass
  • Improves performance accuracy
  • It takes a proactive approach in protecting your body from less injury
  • Concomitant improvements in physiological and psychological health

Muscles do not stretch the way most everyone thinks they do. You must continuously contract muscles while lengthening them to produce a change in flexibility. Resisting and tensing the muscles while stretching is called Resistance Stretching or Resistance Flexibility.

There are 16 types of predictable physiological and psychological benefits from RFST.
