Omega-3 Fats Are Crucial and Most People Don’t Get Enough

It is kind of sad but true that a good portion of our brains are made from fat. What's good is that eating the right kind of fats is necessary for a healthy body and vital for proper brain function. An omega-3 fatty acid called DHA makes up almost half of the polyunsaturated fats in our brain and being deficient in omega-3's is very, very common in the modern United States. This deficiency can lead to a lower IQ, depression, various mental disorders, heart disease and many other serious disease.

The best source of omega-3's are, for technical reasons, animal sources such as fish, grass-fed beef (or other meats), omega-3 enriched (pastured) eggs, or fish oil. So, next time someone calls you a fat-head, let it be a compliment, because your head if full of smart fat!

 

Eating Vegetables Will Improve Your Health

As your mother has told you a million times, vegetables are good for you.
